Family Volkswagen Dealership Bucks the Trend with New Branch
Acquired from Volkswagen retailer, Breeze, the Shirley Road site in Southampton has retained all 40 existing members of staff and aims to grow Peter Cooper VW’s total sales of new and used cars to over 4,000 a year.
Sitting alongside Peter Cooper VW’s existing three sites in Hedge End, Portsmouth and Chichester, the new showroom offers on-site servicing, in addition to sales of new and used VW’s.
Darren Cooper, Managing Director of Peter Cooper Volkswagen said: “Building on the success of our current three showrooms, we wanted to expand our presence and firmly establish ourselves as the leading VW expert on the South Coast. We see this as a major long-term investment, enabling us to service customers from the outskirts of the New Forest right across to Brighton, and demonstrating our commitment to the VW brand.
“The VW passenger car business in Southampton has historically been split between two retailers for over 30 years; therefore we are delighted to have completed the acquisition to enable us to serve the whole of Southampton. Going forward, we will continue to look at all opportunities open to us, whether that is in other franchised sites, or in prestige used car sites.”
Peter Cooper Volkswagen is currently offering qualifying customers up to £4,000 part exchange on selected models under the new government scrappage scheme.
